first post here so - hello and thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.
i've had my 07 ii61 for just over a year and half and already had the steering column changed (1 week at bavarian motors belfast) and the variable timing fixed (around 2 weeks work) both under warranty.
now my warranty has run out and i have had the seemingly common dsc fault lights on the dash. i had it diagnosed by an indy as a faulty hydro pump internal sensor. the indy quoted me £440 to supply and fit the repair kit incl bleeding, any code resets which are needed etc. i can get a repair kit for around £200 (i think) but not sure about the bleeding as i read that this needs to be done using inpa or dis software to cycle the pump to bleed out.
can anyone recommend what software and lead i should get if i'm going to do this myself. does this look like the right deal? OBD Car Diagnostic Software Downloads and will the basic inpa at £9.99 do my job. also any other tips would be appreciated - especially around the use of the software, i.e. is it straightforward or do i need a masters degree in computing?
cheers -- phil
