Hi all,first post.
I fitted a new turbo core to a friend's 55 plate 118d with the m47 engine.it limped to my garage with a shot turbo and no oil in it.
Replaced the core and inspected the pipes and were a little oily but normal in my experience.
Pulled the turbo off fitted the core, fitted the turbo, primed the oil feed.
Cleaned the vortex cc breather.
New oil and filter, started the car and checked the return oil pipe on the turbo.a nice steady flow.
Fitted the return pipe back on,started the car and let it idle for a good 10 /15 minutes.
Blipped the throttle slightly and the revs took off, it's running on its own oil!
quickly sat in the car turned off the ignition and stalled it.
Checked the intercooler (wish I gaff done this before) sure enough it's swimming.
Drained it out.
Now it won't start.
It's giving me all four glow plug codes which I don't think will stop it starting and possibly have always been there.
The main trouble I think is a code for rail pressure on start-up.
Looking at live data I'm only getting around 3 bar but I have seen it on 16 momentarily.
Checked all the fuses behind the glove box,ok.
Can't hear the tank pump at all when ignition switched on.
Metered it and nothing on start.
When I pull the fuel pump fuse and replace it, the tank pump runs for a split second but only gives about 6 volts.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to pinpoint the problem or suggestions from experience.
What's next to test.
