Hello chaps. I'm trying to sort a few niggles so I have another question regarding my engine.
Long story short, I've got a power loss problem under 2000rpm, with help from some members on here and a bit of digging, it seems the solenoid valves (2x item 1) which control the VANOS could be at fault. I was wondering if there is a way of testing them?
I have seen people remove them and feed a 12v current through them, but I was wondering whether I could disconnect them and drive the car? It would lack power, but if I didn't get the hesitant power surely this is a good tell tail sign?
Would this cause problem or damage running the engine without them active? Surely it would just be a standard engine without variable valves?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.
