Figured before I put the engine covers back on & put the turbo replacement saga to bed, I may as well clean out the EGR first.
More brake cleaner & an old toothbrush later,
I'd hardly eat my dinner off it but that's a lot better than it was!
Annoying thing is, the level of crud in the EGR is replicated in the inlet manifold.
I guess at some point I really do need to get that off too & give it a thorough "de-crap" as the airflow must be restricted somewhat. I think when I do, I'll probably blank off the EGR to prevent that kind of build up again. No time soon though, I don't want to get up close & personal again to that engine for a while yet!
