Hi every one
i have a few things wrong with my car at the moment which i am trying to sort out myself with out taking it to the garage, its a 320d 150bhp made in feb 05, firstly ill tell you all how its performing like the title a flogged donkey,
i put my foot down i can hear the turbo spool up by the wooshh it makes at about 1500 revs but i dont have any power untill about 2500revs where the wooshing sound goes away and the turbo just kicks in with a small increase in speed but not much power ie if im going up hill i find my self changing down gear just to get up it. its like i got a little 1l dressed up.
so far i have changed a few thing and have noticed a couple of things that has made my question weather i have a complete engine system in under the bonnet.
i have changed the swirl flaps to blanking plates the last owner said he had it done but sounded a bit hesitant when i asked.
i have changed the MAP sensor it was bogging plus euro car parts had a sale on this didn't make a difference
replaced the MAF but no better.
had all the o rings replaced on the inter cooler pipework
replace air filter whilst doing that i replaced the crank case breather
now when i was doing the maf i noticed the pipe going on to the intake of the turbo was loose should there be a rubber ring around it to seal the pipe? i was thinking if this was not sealed properly it would suck air in from there as it would be easier for air to go through rather then being restricted a bit by the air filter?
also the vacuum system seems a bit odd, i have a bme c110 scanner a nice bit of kit and it has thrown up a couple of fault codes which are
4206 oxygen sensor heater activation (i have not got a scooby about this)
41E2 EGR controler activation
4141 swirl flaps activation
4203 glow control unit (i have a good idea of what this is)
but the reason i was suspecting the vacuum system is because i was checking over the turbo and seeing if the actuator arm moves (i tie wrapped my phone on to and recorded it) i could not see any vacuum hose any where near it or that big black vacuum tank
also with these fault codes do the use a vacuum to make the switch?
i really hope some one could really help me out here i have taken it to an independent BMW specialist but he seem a seedy character so i dont really want take it back there
thanks in advance sorry its a bit long winded but hope fully the more info i give the better
