Hey guys, i am new on this forum, i want to say hi to all and wish a Merry Xmas.
I have a curiosity related to remap and EGR.
I just want to know in case I have a new map from 136 to 165 hp, EGR delete/block is a good solution or a must. Engine is M47 , 320d 136 hp version, year 2001.
I've read so many posts about blocking EGR with good and side effects, but i`m not sure if they are true.
Good effect : maybe a little bit good throttle response, cleaner intake manifold
Bad effect : engine can heating up too much, oil breaking down and turbo will remain without lubrication ; fouling of valves ; a longer warming up in the winter ; a higer fuel consumption ; higher temperatures in combustion chamber.
I`m curios if is a good idea to leave it active or disable it after this remap.
P.S. Engine it's an euro3, and if i block it i don't have check engine light/eml and no errors on diagnose, just an air mass too high, but i can adjust this with DIS.
