I had a couple of small chips on the screen which I had repaired through auto windscreen back in October. Few days ago I started noticing several tiny chips (I've absolutely no idea how did they happen) a couple of which are definitely starting or will start to branch. I'm thinking about getting the screen replaced instead of having it repaired again. I want to get it done through insurance, I've spoken to auto windscreen and they say that they can put in the request for an original BMW screen but it'd be entirely up to insurance whether they approve that or not. The other brands they normally use are Master and Pilkington. I'll definitely push insurance to get me a dealer part but in case that doesn't happen can you guys suggest what would be the second best option? also is it better to get it done through a visiting engineer or is it better to get it sorted at their workshop?
