I'm a mechanic but this is confusing me so shall try to explain my best.
The fuse blows regularly, although until yesterday was ok for a few months. The fuse of what I've noticed, powers the fuel and temp gauge, the clock backlight (although works when headlights are turned on) and the air bag light.
Now the car is stripped as does have wiring exposed and regularly has stuff in the back, but I can't see any cuts in the wiring (been looking around fuel sender mainly). But with the fuse blown, most of the time the fuel gauge reads fully empty and temp gauge constantly changes, but sometimes the fuel gauge will read something, and makes up its own mind, and what I've tried doing is wiggling the wiring going into the fuel sender, and it may coincidence but it seems to suddenly flick to fully empty when I do this, but not always and never when wiggling the same part of the wiring, hence me thinking it's just coincidence.
Really hacked off with this constantly happening, and am debating on just wiring the sensors straight into the clocks wiring with my own wiring with an inline fuse, other option is run after market gauges which il be doing in the future for oil temp and pressure etc.
Only other thing I can think of, is I'm doing an engine swap soon, so shall I wait till then and have changed the clocks/engine loom/fuel pump etc and see if this solves the issue that's clearly hidden.
Thoughts/ideas/I'm going to shoot myself soon.
