I am slowly bottoming out the issues with our E91, as you can see from other threads on here BUT as I sort one thing another appears
So, the latest issue is coolant and the fact it wants to escape the confines of the engine where it has its very important uses as we all know.
Friday night I hooked up the car trailer, loaded the Golf onto it and set to Cadwell park, on route we hit traffic and I noticed steam coming from under the bonnet but no warning light for temperature too high, onto the hard shoulder and coolant was dripping from under the EGR cooler onto the pipes and then the auxiliary belts.
We proceeded on our way, stopping at every services to top up, we did this on the way home too, I now have to source the leak and seal it, is there a common fault on the M57N2 engine for leaking water? Is it the EGR cooler? or is it going to be a strip down and see what it is?
Just to add, the car pulls extremely well and returned about 17mpg towing a Golf on a car trailer, so fairly pleased with that. Suspension does sit a bit at the rear though.
