The airbag warning light came on a while ago when I moved the drivers seat to the rearmost position.
Fired up the lappy and ran INPA. Fault code 2 - driver side seatbelt pretensioner.
Jiggled the wires. Cleared the fault. Light went out. :-)
Two miles down the road, light comes on again :-(
Repeat the above procedure..... many times.
Now, however, the fault comes straight back without the :-) bit.
Time for surgery.
I checked out the procedure for replacing the 'offending' part of the loom with BMW's repair kit.
Looks easy enough... I've got cable ties, crimp connectors, two pin connector block. I'll use the original pretensioner connector and bypass the big yellow connector block - as instructed by BMW - but using my own bits.
RESULT? Err... well no.
Initially, all looked good :-) again. Then the light came back on :-(
Out comes the lappy. This time the fault code is 1 - pretensioner ignition circuit.
It appears that beemers dont like home made wiring looms.
Sooo.... Its time to visit BMW and hand over some hard earned for their extra special wire and connctor blocks.
So this is the fault showing now. Anyone got any ideas on where to go with it?
