I just want to start off by saying I'm sorry if this is the wrong section, I've been using this forum as a guest for a week or so and have found everyone very helpful.
I've encountered an issue with my new BMW and praying one you guys can help me. So I guess I'll describe the problem and my car.
I've got a BMW 330 Ci E46 Convertible 2001 (December 2001).
I purchased the var last week, on the way home, I noticed that the clutch was slipping, i'll do my best to be as precise as possible describing this issue.
It has slowly become worse over time since then by the way.
At a junction or lights, If i wanted to get away quickly by slipping the clutch slightly, and giving her some hard throttle, the revs would very quickly climb straight to 6k and the car would not move, If I ease off and accelerate slowly through the revs, it's fine, although still feels as if it's not pulling quite as it should be.
Sounds like a clutch problem right? Took it for a new clutch to be fitted.
The clutch plate was worn and I have an invoice for new clutch. Noticebly smoother gear changes.
However, the problem is still as bad if not slowly worse. As soon as I provide hard acceleration, even without the clutch engaged (I think), revs shoot up and car doesn't pull. Obviously at the moment it's not a huge issue as I like to think of myself as a sensible driver.
I've spoken to a friend and mechanic. I'm being told they want to remove the CDV, bleed it and replace the Slave Cylinder, all of which is costing a total of around £110.00. So not to bad, but I've already shelled out for a clutch, and want to be sure before spending out.
Have you guys seen this before? Or anyone able to offer advice.
Again, apologies, I'm new and will do my best to post correctly, in the right place.
Really am hoping for some help guys.
