Noticed when filling up with V-Power Nitro + last week that I had sprung a leak just infront of the O/S/R wheel, checked it out and it was pissing out the fuel i'd just put in. (Filled upto the first click not overfilled that i'm aware of)
Got the car home and called out the AA to see if a remedy or explanation for what has gone bust..
The guy stayed for around 2 hours, removing the rear seats to check both pumps (both sealed and dry) and checked where he could under the car but advised getting it on some ramps over Christmas.
Got it into a local friends garage and he said that it's a decent job to get the tank down to see if it's cracked and costly to replace.
Just been reading up online and it seems like a common problem with the breather pipe rubbing against some sharp metalwork and splitting.
Is it worth me speaking to my local BMW dealer about this as surely its a design fault and should've been recalled or should I just fork out to find the fault and get it fixed with it being almost 10 years old (06 plate) ? Has anyone else had this issue?
