Im putting this post as i try found answer for my issue.
I bypass my egr around 7 moths ago by just simple block off my vacuum line and fitting of blanking plate between egr and and pipe coming from egr cooler. No problem with any light on dash or any code on Inpa. After mod fill better throttle reaction from low revs.
Unfortunately it does not work as i plan. Becouse of exhaust gases temperature and engine vibration my egr pipe broke on flexi joint. Hot exhaust gases strat blow on my egr thermostat and im finished on middle of the road with melted termostat and no water in my car cooling system. :(
Anyway i sort out it. I fit new termostat and move blanking plate on the other end of egr pipe. I fit it before flexi pipe joint between egr cooler and beginning of new pipe.
Now im start worry about my egr cooler. I read that also this part sometimes crack and the best solution for it is fit blanking plate on beggining of entire egr system between exhaust manifold and egr cooler so cooler is keep cold all time.
My issue is what size of blanking plate I need My car 2007 e90 335d.

I plan to keep all egr system on place for MOT.
This plate will keep it safe and disable so my manifold is keep in clean condition as its now without any carbon buid up in it.
