    Abs sensor air gap

hi does anybody have any idea what the air gap tolerances are for the ABS sensors on the rear drive shafts, I have one slightly corroded which is pushing the ring out in one spot causing it to catch the sensor slightly, don't want to pay for a repair as thinking of selling and was wondering if I could spacer sensor from hub with a very thin (less than 0.5 mm) washer until i decide whether i am keeping the car much longer.

Hi Larry. Pm me if u haven't fixes your and sensors as of yet I can help

Tbh you could space it but if your selling the car I would fix it correctly it's not very fair for the new buyer to end up with it now bmw charge roughly 500 for a new drive shaft each but you can go on eBay and find reluctor rings and sensors garage should charge roughly 2-3 hours Labour to do the job

Not done anything with them yet just haven't had any time, you can get the reluctor rings for not a lot as mentioned by crgcoupe and it's a driveshaft out cut the old ones and replace with the new, if they are slack centre pop the driveshafts which should give the rings something to grip onto, I wouldn't carry out the short term repair if selling privately and normally like to do things properly but if I trade it in I won't be spending anything on it.
If you remove the driveshafts mark the inner joint and diff so that the refit in the same position.
