Bit of an odd one this, as i know its a regular question... But never seems to be as bad as mine is
On the way home tonight, and the steering wheel suddenly started shaking badly. And by badly i mean it trys to rip it out of your hands! Only happens above 30mph though. Now i didn't hit anything, and the only thing i drove over was a slight dip down-up in the road.
I've had the wheels off, checked all the weights are still there (new tyres, i watched them balance them 3 weeks ago) and they are. theres no dents in the rims, and everything seems to be straight, tight and in the right place.
Im stumped... what could cause it to start so suddenly!? Could a wheel bearing go without any warning? Although there appears to be no play when i grab the wheel. One thing i did notice was that the disc was fair hot... Could this be related (warped disc maybe, causing it to pull everytime it rubs?)
I need to get it sorted, but i'll be working late every night this week... Which limits the time i have to get a look at it
Any ideas or advice welcomed!
