    BMW stereo gone tits!?

Hi all, this is my first post on here since registering. Popped my cheery!
Ok I was on my way home from work this eve listening to a CD, all was good until I went to turn the volume down. Didn't respond up or down using either the steering wheel controls or by the the head unit itself. So I tried turning it off, but again nothing. I tried switching it from CD to radio, it said on the display that it was on the current radio station but the CD was still playing. However I could change the CD track. So when I got home I turned off the ignition thinking that the stereo would turn off but again, no, it stayed on. I had to eject the BMW 6 CD changer magazine to get it to shut up but the head unit is still on. Anyone else come across this before???

    Hi and welcome

Never come across that myself. You could try and disconnect the battery in the boot for 10 mins and then connect it back. It should reset everything.

Thanks jrfty. There's a BMW approved garage across the road from me at work so will ask him tomorrow and see what he says about it. I'll reply the findings for any future reference. Sweet looking motor by the way!

No after market stuff, complete BMW standard. Its working fine now. My mate who's a BMW approved mechanic said its probably a fuse gone, checked them and they looked ok. So whether it was down to me ejecting the magazine or fiddling with the fuses that sorted I don't know. Either way, all good now. Cheers guys.
