    revs drop when windows operated

    Evening all,

with the car at idle, if I press the window switch the revs drop and the car stumbles..........any ideas why?
EDIT: noticed it happens if I switch the wipers on too.
Also, not sure if its related to the above or not, I was out in the car today, and gave it some beans, it felt like it was choking its self and struggled to get above 80.

I would check to see if your alternator is charging correctly.

how would I check that? multi meter at the battery? what readings should I see?

Would low battery power cause poor performance?

Around 14.5V with engine running . Then check your battery is holding charge over 12V without starting the car.

I would also start with the alternator, as a failing voltage regulator can cause the issue you're describing.

may be not now as the demand off the battery is less ie driving with no heater/lights/rear demist all these items make the alternator / battery work harder but it could be the source of your problem worth a look
