    2001 E46 320d - Clutch pipe failure...

I have the above car in my workshop ATM, recovered after clutch faliure - I was expecting a failed slave cylinder or perhaps the clutch itself, quite surprised to see that it's actually the solid pipe from the slave cylinder to the flexible pipe on the bulkhead that has a hairline crack in it.

I wonder if anyone else has seen this before, I will post pictures tomorrow as it was getting late when I took it apart...

I'm curious to see it. I'll have a word with my mate who works at the Indy and see if he's seen it either.

I will try and take a picture of the pipe tomorrow - its hard to see, but the fluid pi$$es out of it.... Going to make up another one tomorrow, hopefully get them mobile again.

It's number 14 in this pics thats failed....

No corrosion, no damage - just cracked behind the lock nut into the slave cylinder....

Had it had a new slave? Sounds like over tightening damage or pipe seized in nut last time undone

Probably vibration that has made it fail, that is why it has the big bend and loop around to help prevent that.
