    Central Locking Fail.

    Back again!

The coupes central locking has packed up. One day I unlocked the door with the key and didnt hear the other door/solenoid work. I wondered why, got in the car, started the car and as it started the central locking kicked in and the passneger door and bootlid unlocked. I thought nothing of it and was just glad it had eventually worked!

Next day, unlock car, central locking doesnt work, start car, central locking still doesnt work and thats pretty much how its stayed!

    Any ideas?

I changed the bootlid recently but the C.locking worked for some time after that and I have checked to make sure I havnt pinched any of the wires back there, everything seems fine.

    Cheers

If you've checked the boot lid wiring loom (inside the sheath too), try disconnecting the battery and leaving it for a bit. Also check fuses.
Next idea would be to pull out the glovebox and check the central locking module. Depends on the age of the car to the type of system you have.

    It's a 1998, so it'll have a ZKE.

Have you tried the key in all the locks as well to rule out the alarm module ?

Ive sold this car now but sorted the issue (kinda). C.Locking fuse had blown and kept blowing. Disconnected central locking unit in the boot and hey presto the fuse stopped blowing! I had recently fitted the boot lid so must be something I had done but I didnt have the time or inclination to have a proper investigation so just left it disconnected and informed the new owner.

    No worried eh! Cheer guys.
