    Well yeah...

But I don't have it nor do I know anything about it... Need to see if my Cam sensors has gone or my Lambda or the MAF...

Get yourself a cheap laptop and install inpa yourself. I just installed it this weekend on a recently purchased laptop but haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

You can follow @dailydoggy guide here. I used it and installed perfectly! Thanks DD. Software is free to download.

Cable will set you back about 6.50 from ebay. I bought this one
409.1 USB Diagnostic Cable VAG-COM pour Audi/VW/SKODA/SEAT avec CD instalation | eBay

Just double check DD's guide re: the cable to ensure your car is fully supported.

Unless Devil's car is OBD2 capable (which it shouldn't be for a 1995), that cable won't work.
For pre-OBD2 cars (i.e. pre 1996) the whole car is ADS only, which means you need the Pac-man type connector, an ADS switchbox and a laptop with a proper, hard-wired serial port.
You can buy an ADS box with connector for about 55 (here: BMW INPA / Ediabas OBD & ADS Interface | eBay , or you can try and make your own for less than 10 using some simple electronics on a bread-board (here: Simple DIY ADS interface schmatic - BMW forum. Diagnostics, coding, programming, repair BMW vehicles.

But unless you are very determined, you will still need a laptop with a MOTHERBOARD RS-232 port. INPA itself can be found free on the web.

If you only need one code checked out, it may be worth finding someone to just plug your car in, but frankly having the kit yourself is so useful as you can diagnose anything digital on the car, reset service lights, clear codes, clear warning lamps etc.

As said, probably easier to buy stickle's set up knowing that it'll work with your E36, confirm first, Damien
