    Air leak or exhaust blowing

    Hope you can help guys ,coming home from work this morning,sounded as if exhaust started blowing got slight loss of of power ,once home lifted bonnet and engine sounded like it was sucking air in.
    Delay on throttle response also.I know this may be a bit vague if you need more specific info please ask..

    Cover the tail pipe with a rag if the car stalls you may have an air leak if the car runs and sounds more throaty than normal exhuast is blowing or leaking

    Did as you said Carl,car did not stall,sounds ok on idle ,but when reving get a noisy rattle from what sounds like rear of exhaust,however when covering up pipe it did not sound any throatier

    Possibly blowing then mine is and just been quoted 170 for a unipart exhuast.
    How long have you had the car do you know how long its been on the car best thing us to get it on a ramp or plug it in to a diagnostic laptop which will tell you if you have a sensor down.
    Perhaps another member will have a more defintive reply for you as mine is clutching at straws:o

    Thanks for your replies, especially as it is your birthday so have a good one ,think I better put it on ramp first as you said .I have had the car about 20 months ,doesnt appear to have been changed ever but I am no expert ,so hopefully its just the wear and tear of owning a bmw 330 .(which seems to be constantly) . thanks again
