easiest way to fit white window clips

What is the easiest way to replace these little bleeders that always break when you pull them off?

im talking about the white clip with the metal clip surrounding it on the bottom runner that the reg plugs into

do you put the metal clip on the white clip first then push reg into it

or do you push reg into the white clip, then prise on the metal clip?

one is easy to do, eg if your inside the car, facing the passenger door, the left clip is easy to fit, but there is no chance of fitting the right one, theres no room/access anywhere.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
