2004 330ci - PDC / parking sensor issue.. doesn't appear to be a duff sensor....

So the one problem I've got with my new 330 which is rather annoying is the parking sensors not working properly.

Almost every time I put the car in reverse I just get a constant beep.

Looking into it I found, or thought I'd found that I had a duff sensor... So I set out to find which one.

Unfortunately upon listening to the sensors all 4 make exactly the same quick ticking noise.

Now all I can find about this issue seems to be with the end result a sensor not ticking... so anyone got any ideas on my problem???

You need diagnostics Mike, INPA will check it

Did you listen to the front ones? Any defective sensor will knock the whole system out. (i'm assumming you have front/rear sensors)

The other option is to buy one rear and change/swap with new one until you find the defective bstd

No front sensors, rear only.. all 4 ticking which I thought meant they were working?

I'm going to take the car down my local indy in the next couple of weeks for him to give it a once over, will get it on diagnostics then and hopefully find what the problem is..

More commonly its a sensor gone down but it could be the PDC unit thats failed? INPA is the way to enlightenment

I shall get it scanned.. cheers simon.

Worst case looks like PDC control unit would only be around 40-50 for a used unit.. out of interest does anyone know where they are located if it does need changing?

I was going to get my own DD, then I sold my 325ti and the idea obviously passed.. Now I've got another BM I'd consider it.

But in all honestly the place I go won't charge me for a diagnostic scan, I've used the place since I got my first BM about 4 years ago and he's good as gold to be fair
