    Fault Code every 200 miles

Hi all i keep getting fault code coming up that translates to catalyst below efficiency threshold, dose this mean new cat or could it something else before that. The only other minor running issues are that when its started from cold for the first few minutes it sounds like the exhaust is blowing. (sounds so rough) and if left to idle it will miss once or twice could this be to do with secondary air pump? After that runs like a dream. After code has been deleted will stay off for a couple of hundred miles. Im a bit stumped any fault finders willing to have an educated guess?

1st thing to check for are induction air leaks, then exhaust leaks. This code is hardly ever the cat itself....

the air pump leaking problem will not help the cat code problem amongst other things its there to purge the cat of gases with air from the last engine shut off...

leaking and iffy air pump is a common problem as mentioned check for vac leaks all over as its common too...
