    Signs of a faulty MAF

Cn anybody give me any signs on a faulty maf I've heard that cone filters can kill them quickly the cars just gone over 161,000 and as far as I can tell its in the original maf.it seems sluggish sometimes and a bit hesitant had the codes read but nothing came up he said they don't always show up.would I gain anything unplugging the maf for a journey? Would I do any damage?

They don't always show up fault codes - They send enough data to the ECU to keep it happy and within it's own "tolerances", but not enough data to keep the engine sweet.

Unplug it, go for a drive !

Just rememer though, that next time you have the codes read off, that code will be there.

Nope. ECU will revert to a stock map within itself of what it would expect to see from the MAF, with it unplugged.
