Had a few of these, some cheap, some not so cheap and now going to try the Meyle HD 4 year guarantee ones so after other peoples experiences.

First time I bought some in a rush as from a motor factor and they cost either 9 or 11 each and lasted a year.

Since then I have had 3 or 4 pairs across two cars, around 9 a pait off a well known auction site with varying life expectancies.

Typically the bottom bush parts from the outer but I have noticed recent ones the rubber boot on the ball joint appeart to have dried out and perished / cracked too, which seems weird to me.

Do you reckon it's a by product of us getting all tree huggy with the environment and cutting down solvents / chemicals etc? I have 30 year old ball joints on old opels with goor rubbers and new ones from reputable manufacturers lasting no time.

I do think it has something to do with it, in my experience anything that is environmentaly friendly is crap....
The links that dont seem to last ar no name factor ones, or the ones from various european car parts suppliers. The delphi, lemforder, meyle ones seem to last a lot longer. Im a firm believer in you get what you pay for though.

Sometimes you do, sometimes you just have less money left lol, the trouble is it takes a while to work out what's value for money by yourself
Definitely hoping this is a case where spenfing the extra makes the difference.

The rear end of the 325 is all rebushed / sprung / damped with the appropriate Sachs / Boge / Lemforder / Febi LMI stuff to strike an appropriate brand / cost balance. All the brakes were replaced with Bendix stuff last year and there's only a few bits changed up front over the next couple of years and that should be it refurbished for the next 5 or 10............

..............then it'll no doubt be welding
