New problem please help?

Ok so here is my problem>>

Car was driving fine last night then i had loss of power and it felt like i was driving on four cylinders,,,Its Automatic and i had no kick down as well when i tried flooring it,,At standstill 0 MPH Idle speed would drop and pick up between 500-800RPM almost stalling at times and car was bouncing.


This morning i plugged in INPA and it informed me cylinder 3, 4,&5 at fault...So i got some spark plugs ready to fit.

BEFORE I FIT PLUGS I REMEMBERED A PAST PROBLEM

with this split pipe>

Help identifying oil pipe E46 1999 323i

I have never got round to fixing it so today i bodged some tape around the split part of pipe before fitting spark plugs....


Car now running fine...........Most impressed could this split pipe have caused this type of running issues?

I now have a new replacement pipe from BMW ready to fit...£11..

Yer it was one of them mad after thoughts that played on my mind....I knew the pipe was split and needed fixing just never got round to it....And i hate knowing there is a problem with any car and not fixing it straight away....

My lesson learned...I payed out £45 on plugs as well,,,And all it was is a pipe for £11..


Pipe getting put on tomorrow ,,,And may as well treat her to some fresh plugs.
