Knocking from rear when accelerating :/ [FIXED]

    Hi all,

Ive got a slight knocking noise coming from the rear of my car when going over bumps in the road, its not all the time but now and then lol

It sounds like its from the rear divers side wheel area. I initially thought it was the top mount but having just looked they are both in good condition and the rubber is still solid. Ive jacked the rear up and looked underneath where the rear shock goes through the body work and its all solid there......There is a little surface rust on the actual rear shock piston but nothing serious.

Anyone else have any ideas what the problem could be??

    Thanks in advance

    Baz

Yeah or the easy option shocker top mount but you can't always see it as just the middle comes loose. The RTAB hould be obvious if knocking as the arm won't be in the middle of the console

    Hi guys

I'm not too sure if it is the RTAB nor the shock mounts now as it seems to be speed related. It's like a knocking noise where it gets faster and louder when I accelerate and go at speed. It does knock if I go over a heavy bump but not much. As said it its knocking when accelerating. Take my foot off the gas pedal and it doesn't knock.

Could it be the drive shaft or something simular.........?? It has definitely gotten worse over today where I've driven about 50 miles

Get someone to sit in the back and listen where it's comming from. If it's from either side of the car then it's likely to be rtab's. If it's not, then you've ruled that one out
