    idle issue

    when i start car up from cold and have it running for for few mins before driving off i notice the revs sometimes drop off for second or so then come back up again as normal this does it few times until car is pretty warmed up anyone else have or know this issue

    on an M52 engine its prolly the vanos seals U/S its a common fault with the same symptoms lumpy idle and stalling when cold...

    is it big easy/hard job/expensive cheap etc

    not expensive but fidgety and medium difficulty to do...

    ide get it checked for trouble codes first as other things can cause lumpy idle aswell...

    but when its cold only its usually the vanos seals on the M52 engine...

    got read for codes last week when i was getting auto box read no faults on engine or gearbox car was error free
    how much is it to get vanos unit done at garage etc is mine single or twin vanos

    yours will be double vanos... its about a 3 or 4 hour job...

    to prove its the vanos unplug the vanos inlet solenoid and start the car, if it runs ok without stuttering or fluctuating its the vanos at fault...

    u got pic or something so i know wat im unplugging lol bet vanos aint cheap lol
