Heater Blower Not working

Hi Guys,
Yesterday my heaters packed up. I was bloody freezing driving at 10pm and all the windows steamed up. I had no cold air or hot air coming through the vents despite turning up the fan to max.
So I have been doing a little research today on fitting a hedgehog which seems a right pain in the backside to get too. I have checked all the fuses in my car which all seem fine so I am betting that this is the issue.
Questions, where can I buy a genuine one for the Compact at a good price and two, which side do I go in, the drivers or passengers side? Its seems from the DIY's that you can go in either way. Is that possible?

no it's the drivers side
just done my sons. . it's a little tricky but take time and you'll be fine

you have been watching LHD and RHD videos the FSU is in the same place on the right just the steering wheel has moved from one side to the other

Funny enough it kicked in today randomly which is good but I know it will only fail again so I am going to have a crack at it this weekend, to save me £100.00 quid being charged round the corner.

I can't wait to get stuck in so please be available on saturday morning guys for assistance....

Sorry to revive old threads but just want to double check before i order - this fixes the blowers not blowing and not the actual control of heat?

I can feel heat coming through my vents but the blower has given up altogether. no fan whatsoever....

According to a brief poll on another forum total fan failure accounted for 28%,
this was 9 of 32 posted failures and the highest failure symptom in the poll.
