    Snapped ARB mounting stud!

As the title says basically, where the bracket that holds the arb in place bolts to, one of the studs sticking out from the chassie rail has snapped!

Any one else done this and got over it or any ideas on how to get it sorted?

    Thanks in advance

If it was mine I would........
    • Drill it out small to loosen it and wind it out if I can grab a stub or..........
    • Drill it out same size or slightly bigger and re-tap it or...........
    • If I can reach the other side drill it out bigger and put a nut inside

...........but it's not mine and I don't recommend it

Hmm, just read a lot about it, common problem apparently!

Cant get to the other side as its on the chassie rail so would have to drill a hole on the side as its completly closed in which one person did, but im not up for that.

Get a plate made up with studs an weld it to the leg.

Get a thread welded in there.

Dont think it will be thick enough metal to retapp and get a good fixing really?

Other option is drill it out and use one of those threaded rivet nuts, ideal for chasis box section.

Ah, now that sounds like a pretty good idea, are they a good fixing though, as it will be under some pressure right?
