    Convertible Hood adjustment

I've been replacing my knackered convertible frame and hood today, and it's on and working but I'm having issues with adjustment.

I kept the same number of horizontal and vertical shims on both sides. The frame looks aligned and I have managed to get it to close and lock to the top frame.
However I had to put a huge amount of force to close the front end. After the motors had stopped it was still 2 inches from the top of the windscreen frame. I had to pull both sides of the frame down and press the button to lock it down.
The rear of the hood (below the rear window) was about 1 inch off the hood lid. It's still like that tonight.

I tried various changes to the 2 drive arms at the rear. The front tension rods are already at maximum extension so its nothing there.

Does anyone have any ideas about what to adjust? It seems to be the frame not completely stretching out, but trying to force one end down lifts the other slightly.

I can't actually find any detailed instructions on what to adjust to fix different problems with the hood, only sparse notes about replacing the frame or 'adjusting' it.
