Underbody Tray/Shield Fixings

Hi,

Just fixing back in place my under body tray/shield after working on the car and some of the fixings need replacing.
I'm having no joy in finding these fixings. Does anybody have any ideas where I could buy them?

I have checked on the real oem website but the parts do not look the same as the fixings on my car.
It came up with these part numbers:
41132291403
51718205286

The fixings on my car compromise of a bolt which fixes in to a u shaped clip. The bolts are located on the tray and the clips are located on the car. You turn the bolt about half a turn
and it secures into the fixing. It's not like a conventional nut and bolt.

I have also checked the internet with no success. I have always found these fixings a bit of a pain to locate and tighten, so if anybody can suggest
an alternative that would be good too.

Thanks for the info. That's got my braincell working. I'll try a local fixings company tomorrow which we use at work. Why didn't I think of that before!

Sourced some fixings today from these guys:

Really helpful and knowledgeable. Bought some fixings from them which should do the job.
They call the fixings 'chimney nuts'. Bought 10 M6 chimney nuts with washers and bolts all for under a fiver.
Bought ten sets so I have some spares.

As well as having a shop they also do mail order as well so if your not local they can still help.
Not sure if these items are listed on their website but if you call them with the description I'm sure they would post them out.
We use them to supply our fixings at my work. Nice to see a small local company which has not been swallowed up by Srewfix etc.
They apparently have a lot of home mechanics and kit car builders as customers.

Hey, just wondering how you got on with these fixings, I am looking to replace all of mine (well the ones that haven't already disintegrated)...

I find this site helpful to locate part names \ No. but haven't ever ordered from them.

Hi,

The fixings worked fine. The only ones I couldn't replace were the 3 fixings at the rear of the panel. The threaded part of the fixing on these is located within the bar
they attach to.

I removed my tray after having the same problem! It was scuffed and tatty anyway, doesn't seem to have left anything too delicate exposed

Not that it's probably worth anything but my preference would be to keep it on.
Even if the tray just stops some water from coming up into the engine bay it may be worth keeping it on, especially in winter with all of the salt on the roads.
Must improve the aerodynamics under the car a bit, but as it's not an F1 car I don't expect you would find much of a difference.
