150k miles, clunk on rapid drive take up, got underneath, seems to be the UJ as i can recreate the metalic clunk quite easily by hand. Bit of play detectable.
I've replaced UJ's on propshaft before but never BMW. Has anyone done it or seen a guide handy?
I imagine it is fairly straightforward but any advice appreciated.
Come spring am going to check full extent of underside rust (few holes nr jacking points but pads are still solid). If reasonable, will be doing Guibo (thud), UJ (clunk) and centre bearing (vibration when booting it).
Subframe mounts are still good 43k after BMW replaced the boot floor
