    Idle Problems

Right so the other day my idle started to fluctuate quite a bit, near to the point of stalling. This only happens when the car is hot and does not happen all the time. Today when I was stopped at the lights it started again and the car sounded like a bag of shite and the check engine light is now illuminated. The car drives fine and is no other nasty noises whilst driving. Will get it plugged in when I can but does anybody have any likely causes for this?

Seeing as though I had my headgasket replaced about a month ago I am guessiing maybe something wasnt connected properly or it could be failing again.

So many different possible causes. It literally took me 2 YEARS and hundreds and hundreds of pounds to resolve mine. It could be fixed for cheap if you know what you're looking for

I am hoping its some sort of air leak or something simple. The car drives and sounds fine but sounds terrible on idle from hot, fine when cold, it has stalled a couple of times from a hot start

Upon reading that thread it says that one if the possible problems is cam timing after head work, that to me sounds like a likely suspect

Na get it plugged in mate hopefully will bring something up. If the engine light is in then something will be stored for ya to find!

But like johann said.... Finding the right sensor can be a right ball ache sometimes!

Would this be the case tho? It would be constant in that case not just when warm.
