Been to look at an E30 tonight, It's a white 320 touring, and is absolutely solid, with the exception of the sunroof which is showing some signs of rust (on the sunroof not around it) the price is £600 with no budge on the price. The alloys are alpina's and are in like new condition with four new tyres on them, previous owner has put in a grey leather interior Inc door cards and all are immaculate. But... It needs a new head gasket! The head is already off the block and, on the second cylinder along, there is a blemish which was causing the problem. Questions here are.
Is it worth the money?
Can the old head be skimmed and used again?
If buying a reconditioned head will it go on and there be no problems?
It's also an auto with 144k on the car. I know the bloke selling it and he's ok and has drove the car and says the box is spot on.
