I started a thread a little while ago on the other forum, but will continue it on here.
Just to recap, last year some time, when I changed the standard air filter to a Viper-Box style carbon fibre cold-air induction kit, I had no 'proper' place to mount the original air temperature sensor (what the hell was this manufacturer thinking??)
So I pierced a hole in the ducting near to the box, and stuck it in there. A short while later, upon inspection i noticed that the sensor had disappeared. looking underneath the car, I could see the sensor danglingdown and scraping against the road ! This filed down the sensor right down to the wiring box before the connector itself.
So now I've (finally) bought a new sensor :Hihi and mounted it the same was I did before, but tying the cable a bit higher, so that WHEN it pops out it does not try and commit suicide again!
Well here are some pics of the current mounting
The bay area...DON'T MIND THE DIRT
And the suicidal sensor:
Any ideas how I could keep this from popping out? or maybe move it somewhere else altogether?
