I have an irritating problem with the engine of my E39.
when the engine is cold, it starts absolutely fantastic, no problems at all.
when the engine is warm, it mostly doesn't start - sometimes it starts, but not predictable. if have to wait nearly one hour until the temperature is sunken. if the needle of the temperature indicator shows at the first left line of the instrument or more left, the temperature is low enough and the engine will start.
the problem came up after revision of the injection pump, because some parts inside were broken. simultanouesly all pre-heating candles (didn't find a better word in dictionoary ) were renewed.
many trials were made to find out the cause of the problem, but without any success:
reading out error codes, checking stater motor, new battery to have full electric power whilst starting ... ... ...
does anybody has an idea, what to do to resolve the problem ? thanks !
