Hi , I'm new to this forum and fairly new to the E39
MY M52TU 520iSE 1999 has been "honking" like chewbacca for a little while now , especially at low speed / low revs ( no smoke or major performance issues - little misfire on 1 & 3 )
I replaced the return hose across the inlet manifold which was totally shot to bits... ( massive split along 2/3 of tubing ) I still get the chewy sound though , so I was just about to remove the air filter when i noticed a tube running from the top of it after the MAS connector that goes into a kind of T-piece thing ... it looks odd to me me like it is split
please look at the photo and advise
I'm trying to eliminate easy things in a logical progression before stripping it down
( Of course I did a lot of research first BUT keep seeing images of m52 engine or m54 ,that are different )
hoses 1& 2 go into this "split connector thing " what is it called? Does it look fcuked ?
