Passenger Side Window Goes Down Really Slowly

    Hello all,

I am new to this forum (used to be part of Bimmerforums but was pointed towards here).

    I purchased my 2005/05 BMW E64 645ci Convertible last week - I LOVE IT!

Just have one problem with it unfortunately...the passenger side window goes up and down really slowly compared to the driver side. It sounds as though the rubber may be really dry and the resulting friction causing it to raise and drop really slowly.

I would really appreciate it if somebody can please advise me on what to do?

I will post up some photos of the car in due course.

    Many Thanks,
    Hassan

First of all try some silicon spray on the rubbers, if this doesn't make any difference then the door card will need removing and further investigation required.

Thank you for your responses, it is very much appreciated.

I couldn't get hold of silicone spray so I used Auto Glym Vinyl & Rubber Care instead, is that sufficient?

I applied it the the B-Pillar rubber and also the insides of the window rubber where the window rubs against. I don't think I should have applied it there as its a 'furry' material and now when I drop the window and raise it again, the solution is smearing all over the window

On the plus side the high pitched squeaking sound has stopped but the window still drops and raises painfully slow!

Have I ruined the rubber by applying it inside the window seals?
