Just looking for some advice/ wisdom if poss
Ive got the above on my M30 3.5
Ive had this in the past on these engines and its usually been a dirty idle control valve and or the wrong plugs or gap
Anyway it starts perfect and then hunts through the revs up n down then after maybe 5 mins its a steady idle but rough and sounds and feels like a misfire
Today i removed the idle control valve and cleaned it with carb cleaner and nothing changed
So then i sprayed a good coat of the cleaner on the pipe between the air flow meter and the throttle body and it seemed to smooth out nice for maybe 5 seconds
I didnt want to go out and just get a new pipe straight away tho
So i removed the ICV and that pipe from my 535 with the same engine and that has a nice smooth idle
Was still the same tho and got the same reaction from spraying the pipe
Basically i dont understand that, im a diyer with basic skills like
Also when i bought the car the young bloke said he was told the oil pressure sensor was at fault for this and had a new one in the door pocket
I couldnt see how that would be to blame but i fitted the new one today, a lucas one, tho i still get OIL PRESSURE SENSOR on the check control. Oil warning light goes out straight away on startingl
Do you think that things got anything to do with it right enough?
Next thing i was gonna do was check the plugs as they were replaced recently and if theyre fancy ones im gonna replace them with the basic NGK ones
Can anyone explain about the swapping the ICV and pipe tho?
