Hi folks this is my first post! I've seen previous threads on window problems but were at least six months ago so guess I should start a new thread? I would be grateful for any info to help me fix it. Since I bought the car in August the nearside window (Coupe) has never dropped on opening the door, but somehow it still opened fine and has not been a problem. However I took the vehicle to an auto electricians to sort a central locking problem and on fixing it, the window drop function was restored. This worked fine for three days and then suddenly dropped and could no longer be raised. As this now let the rain in and gave wind noise, I returned the vehicle. The electrician somehow disconnected the drop function by unplugging a switch. He said the connector terminals were too corroded to fix and would need a new wiring loom as he didn't have the correct connectors. I took the car away but didn't notice the nearside door no longer closed properly due to interference of the glass with the door at the top of its run. I guess the glass is now in a slightly higher position so that it no longer clears the seal at the top of the door. To open the passenger door, I now have to get in the driver's door, and drop the window using the main window switch!
I am wondering if any of you knowledgeable people know the best way out of this one? Do you know the name of the switch involved and whether for example the connectors could be soldered? also, exactly where is this switch and how can I get at it? Thanks if you can help.
