    BMW stereo and IPOD

I've noticed there are many threads asking how to get an ipod to play on their BMW OE headunit.

Anyone who has found a way to get this to work then please post the link to the product here

Here is one I found DICE DUO Silverline BMW iPod / iPhone / Sirius Satellite Radio Integration Kit | BSW

Thanks to RYM for his post

There are several ways to get ipod into your BMW. There are connects2 , xcarlink and dice adaptors available. Visit Car Audio Systems, Car Stereo, In Car Audio Stereo, Car Speakers Amplifiers Stereo Head Unit as we have the selection or you can ask me and I can advise. Peter

One of the reasons I joined these forums was to try and get info on how to connect my iPod Classic 6 to a 2008 iDrive system in a 630i Nothing!

I tried an aux to aux connection, which worked to a point... if I wanted to change songs/playlists I had to do it from the iPod rather than through the iDrive system, and of course it didn't charge the iPod as it was playing
I tried the 30pin USB cable I use to transfer music from my laptop to my iPod, but that only charged the iPod... the iDrive didn't recognise an iPod was attached to the USB
I tried both aux and usb, but like the usb only "solution", while the iPod charged, even though the aux to aux was also connected, this time the iDrive wouldn't "see" the iPod connected.
Then I came across one of these. They work!!! Available on ebay... just search BMW iPod connector and check the photo is the same.
Hope that helps those like me searching for a solution.

    G30

Having just migrated from my 13 year old E60 to a G30, thought I would update thread.

I had / still have an old iPod 60gb hard drive model with the wide connector which I had plumbed in to my E60 replacing the CD Player.

I was delighted to find out that it worked first time using the original iPod/USB cable into the G30 USB. Even more delighted that the voice command worked quickly even at song level and very fast.

    Hope that helps some.

    Thanks

    Alan
