Retrofit of satnav, TV and Phone to E46 - Advice please

    Hi Everyone,

My retrofit project is progressing. I have pretty much everything I need. Before I take the interior out I have a few bits to finish on my wiring loom and so have some queries. I have managed to obtain a TV/Nav loom onto which I am splicing a Bluetooth phone loom. I have all the components, racks, boot carpet, etc. I also have a fully upgraded amp with pre-outs and bluetooth connector (for streaming music from phones), rainbow front speakers, the start of the bits for a sub, a hybrid analogue/digital TV component and will add a reversing camera once I stabilise this lot.

Before anyone asks why - because I want this to be an upgraded OEM set-up and I love the way it all works, especially the phone bit. My car has a Dynavin and I hate it (and yes I will sell it once I have this lot working).

1.) Where can I buy pins that fit in the large block that goes into the amp? I had to use a bluetooth loom from a separate donor to my navigation loom and it is missing the multiblock so I need a couple of pins to connect them into the new loom.

2.) Is there anywhere that I can buy wire that matches the OEM loom wire (more a general query than a specific need at present)?

3.) what are those sundry two wire connectors on the loom at about the rear seat bulkhead position and I think there is one moving nearer in to the car? I will check the wiring colours when I get home.

4.) related to 3.) does anyone have a wiring colour chart/list that includes all the weird and wonderful wire colour options? That would help me with my sundry bonus connectors.

5.) am I correct in thinking that the additional convertible amp/antenna that goes in the roof "horseshoe" cover flap is in fact a single item?

That's probably enough to be going on with. ;-)

    Cheers,

    David

Good luck it sounds involved. Some pictures of the connectors you are querying may help

Sorry to be a bit thick but how do you do that? I cannot even set this up to tell me when people respond to threads that I've created or responded to!

After hours of searching I think I have found a monoblock repair kit that includes replacement pins so I'll see if that works.

    Cheers,

    David

So subscribed and we'll see how it goes.

I'm going to check the colour of the wires on the "bonus" dual plugs that I have on my new loom as I'm hoping I might get lucky and find that they are unnessary (if they turn out to be both ends of some wires).

    Cheers,

    David

    Thanks Simon,

    That worked perfectly.

So - my random two prong plug seems to relate to the TV module. though I have no idea where it would plug in to? It has blue/yellow and yellow/green leads.

    Cheers,

    David

So some deep google searching later I actually managed to identify the part numbers and order some from Harry Fairbairn. If you search in the Harry Fairbairn section or look at my posts you'll find them; I always label my posts to say what part I'm looking for.
