Urgent advice if poss guys, immobiliser

Hi folks, got a bit of a problem as i cant start the e34

Its a 1995 520 built in June. It has the 3T alarm thats got the full closure on it. Its got the one button fob to work the alarm and central locking. With this one you press the button to open the doors and if you dont start it up within 30 secs you have to turn on the electrics, press the button again and then start it. Dont know if the cars got ews with having that or if its ews one or 2 either

My niece threw the fob in the air last weekend and since then its been working randomly like.

Thing is the sis in law and kids are taking the car to Haven at Edinburgh tomorrow for a week and its stuck there on the drive

Maybe i could bypass it? I know shell be waiting for me to text saying alls ok

Appreciate and advice guys even if its to be a PM since its security like

    cheers, watty

When you push the button it wont operate the doors either

Got a spare fob? i'd try that first, its probably just broken, take it apart and have a look inside, might be wiring come lose or something,

Only got the one fob, when the niece threw it last week it opened a bit when it hit the deck and hasnt been right since. Ive opened it up and LOOKS ok like

Im not bothered about the fob for the doors just now i just need it started, the electrics come on fine but when you go to start it theres nothing..

Are all solder point in contact? One may have cracked, try a different battery, maybe it's going flat

Do you know the build date on your car, that'll tell you the EWS version - Assuming it was built in 1995, then it's EWS II.

As for your alarm, are you sure it's standard ? I've never heard of the standard alarm cutting off the power supply if you don't start the car for 30 seconds. That sounds aftermarket to me.

Was the actual key (with the transponder inside it) also dropped too ?
    Whats the battery like ?
    Tried whacking the starter ?

Was reading Billywhizzs threads from the old forum and im thinking ive got the 3T alarm with the EWS2 tho like you said theres no mention of the cer having to be startrd within 30secs of deactivating the alarm with the doors..

I rocked the car in gear to try the starter but no joy, dont think its that really anyway, the fob wont do the doors but the key will and the batteries good

Things always go pear shaped at the wrong time eh, ill phone the dealer in the morning to see exactly whats in it and see where to go from there maybe. Got new batts for the fob tonight as well and theres no difference

Shouldve got a new fob ages ago, usual story

With EWS II, if the voltage in the battery isn't good, it'll stop you from trying the starter. Are you sure the battery's good ?

Not sure what to suggest next, as a broken alarm fob (assuming it's standard) shouldn't immobilize the car
