Angry R56 number plate light problem

    Hi all,

Im new to the forum and to mini but I have had BMWs in the past, I bought an R56 cooper and all the lights and rear lights, brake lights, heated rear window, wash wipe work, yet nothing from the number plate lights. Bought a new handle which includes the boot handle/switch and the number plate lights thinking it was a loose wire in this part and it still has made no difference. Can anyone help or advise. I am desperate to get them fixed. Loose wire?

With a multimeter check there is power getting to the electrical plug that connects to the number plate , is it the small 3 wired plug as below ?

I suspect that one fuse covers the rear lights and boot handle so you'll have to chase back the wiring to find the fault/break.

The tailgate trim usually unclips to reveal the wiring and where the wiring loom exits the tailgate & enters the main body of the car
there's usually a ribbed rubber sleeve which you might need to pull back to inspect for broken or damaged wires?
