Hey guys and girls, im back.
Quick apology, this thread is a little late but better late than never.
Ok, so those who know me may remember by old E36 coupe, silver 328 sport with "extras" that was broken up and mostly ended up in smidge's E36 touring, which was then broken.
At the time i was breaking this and selling parts, i had all ready bought another 36 but was keeping things quiet :-)
Before i start, none of the following would have possible with out my very good friend chris ransley or CR-MTech motorsport, or my very understanding other half gayle (smidge)
In april i found what i was lookinh for, a mint M3 Evo. But (always a but, right?) it didnt run. At all.
The seller had spun two shells. But the car was cheap and engines arent hard to change. So arm with bits paper with the queens head on, me and chris went to essex with a van and trailer to bring it home.
Now i bought the car because of the spec and condition, the body was in mint condition and the inside is fitted with electric and heated vaders and fully extended leather in lotus white, and full Harmon kardon audio.
Once back home it sat on the drive. We decided early on to replace the engine rather than rebuild. So its sat there while chris sourced a good engine. It was also decided that the new engine would be opened and fitted with new shells and ARP rod bolts, re shimmed oil pumps and bore cleaned.
While it was sat there, it gave a chance to sort a few issues i had with the car.
First was faded parcel shelf, which was removed and made black again (cue the rattle tins)
Second, the car came with its kidney grilles painted to match the body which made them fade into the car too much, so were changed for black ones.
Third, i swapped out the front and rear side indicators for smoked ones
Forth change came in the form of a chassis upgrade, with my HSDs being fitted and anthracite sunflowers going on, the original Motorsports being very kerbed.
In the meantime an engine had been found, with only 76k on it, and a fairly new vanos unit fitted, this was stripped, cleaned, parts fitted and buttoned back up ready to go back in.
So it was back on the trailer and down to chris to be swapped.
While the car was there, my old evo back axle was changed due to being a known item with polybushes and decent brakes fitted, some hardcore pagid discs and pads, whiteline front arb, X brace and scorpion dtm exhaust (wasnt fussed about the supersprint that was already on there) also found that it has been fitted with an E46 320d steering rack which is 3 turns lock to lock :-)
Engine fitted, car mot'd and taxed, insurance sorted, it was time to fit my old momo race steering wheel which had been off to royal steering wheels to be trimmed in alcantara with M stitching..
And thats where its upto now. More to be done but i have been out there enjoying it far to much ;-)
Probabily missed bits out (most likely, theres a lot been going on tbh)
