This thread is long overdue, I've been a member since June 2013 so about time I cracked on.
So after getting back from another tour in Afghanistan I decided I wanted another E36 but this time a vert. My first was a 1994 316I coupe in silver, titan I think????? After a lot of searching and missing out at the last minute on a few auctions I saw this one the weekend after I got back in Newport Wales. Needless to say a deal was done and I drove home with this. Car was a good spec with HK stereo, genuine M-Sport, padded leather armrests and a few other bits. It had a few problems but that was reflected in the price at 1700 quid.
This is how she was when I picked her up with the exception of the pressed plates and surrounds. Paintwork aint that bad after a polish but I do need to mop it with a DA.
First job was to get an oil service done as the light was on, Eden motors in Yeovil got the job as well as a health check inspection, this threw up a few things I missed when I bought her.
Perished brake flexi hoses
Incorrectly routed rear brake pipes
Perished intake coupler
Missing exhaust hanger
Leaking PAS pump and rack
Not too bad apart from the brake lines.
I replaced the RTAB's with powerflex items, bought the sealed tool to do this with as I was having a total nightmare doing it by drilling out the rubber. With the tool it was a piece of piss, sorry no pics as I was so threaders with it I totally forgot. I also replaced the broken steering components with new items and now theres no leaks anywhere, again no pics!
Around the same time I also dod a few cosmetic bits as these bits were playing havoc with my OCD.
Aerial grommet and stubby aerial
New intake coupler
M3 center grill
New engine cover. Before
More to come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
