It has been a few years since the unfortunate demise of the loud, low and slow project, since that unfortunate occurrence I have been rolling about in cheap motors but I have come to the point where I fancied something nice again
I was keeping my eye out for an E46 330 sport in Imola red with alcantara sports seats so not too specific
Well one turned up, the advert looked good so away I went to have a squint.
As soon as I looked at the front of the car I knew something was off but I cracked on, had a check about and a test drive. After the test drive I notice the drivers wing was a bit off so I carried out a text check and found out it was cat d as of last year, on top of a few other issues being the thermostat was jammed open, the front discs are warped and the usual bolster wear
We couldnt come to an agreement over the price.
The next day I received a text with a lower offer to which I haggled and got a few more quid off it.
I picked up the car yesterday at which point I realised the shoddy respray complete with runs, orange peel and god knows what on the boot lid but the deal was made bar the thermostat and the discs the car is pretty solid and drives well. I had it round at a mates work today for a look underneath, it's pretty good just a wee bit of play in the passenger wishbone.
it's not the best one but for the money I cant complain. it seems to have been specced well from the factory, electric seats, harman kardon sound system with subwoofer, there is a cd changer but the cartridge is missing strangely will maybe try and get one from the scrappy
The plan is to sort any mechanical issues and not give a flying fornication about the bodywork,I might use it to learn about machine polishing seeing as I can't make the paint any worse than it already is
I probably wont update this very often but will see what happens
