Well this is the new owner of Steves old black IS and thought I should start keeping a record of what I've been upto with my little IS. It's been great to read how much time and care he put into it. Unfortunatly, I think the next owner didn't take as much time over him because when I found him he looked a little worse for wear so bought him home for a little TLC
Paintwork was scratched, dented and drivers door had a rust patch the size of a orange. Bonnet was crazed and paint orange peeled. It came with full M-Kit but again, the paint was in terrible condition, scratched through layers of remnants of calypso red, boston green and estoril blue I believe lol.
Front end was pre-facelift. obviously bumped but it drove straight. It came on alpini reps.
On the plus side I picked it up with 78,000 miles of the clock, with paperwork to prove, a mint black leather interior, rear M3 seats and front sports. M3 tri-stitched steering wheel, LED angel eyes and with tax and test.
Time to get to work.
At the first chance, (ten mins down the road at the local petrol station) I debadged him. Much better. Then once home, took him to CR-Mtech for a closer inspection. Someone, it seemed, had had a rather nasty collison with a rock or the like as the sump had two very nasty cracks. So for a temporary fix, the chemical metal came out with much success. No more leaks. We tightened the exhaust brackets and adjusted the exhaust so it sat into the bumper better.
Used as a daily ride for a couple of months, and still running strong, so it was all systems go for the cosmetics.
